Share your Experiences

This message board has been created for Captains of sail training vessels to leave feedback about experiences whilst in port.

If you have had a particularly good, or indeed a poor experience and would like to let other vessels know about it, please post your comments below.  It would also be useful to know whether any of the port facilities or services were discounted, or even free of charge, for sail training vessels.

Once you have posted your comment, please give the port a rating out of 5, with 1 being a poor experience and 5 being exceptional good.

If you are already a registered site member then please login to leave your comments, if not please register now.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Gulden Leeuw just visited Ajaccio / Corsica and would like to leave a recommendation here for Mrs. Pauline Mancini, agent at Corsica.

She did a great job for us organising clearance, free mooring in a nice marine, doctor etc..for free as she just loves it. Their are only 2-3 ships/ year coming here and she would like not to miss them.

EUROPA is planning to visit Vigo, Spain in fall 2011. Does anybody have experiences if Vigo is a Tall Ship Friendly port and if so do you have berthing and contact details, etc.?
Thanks very much, Reinoud van der Heijden

The Bark EUROPA has just visited Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada where she moored alongside the dock of the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. The office of the Picton Castle was a great help in establishing contacts with the museum and local suppliers. EUROPA was there for a week, during which time the Fore Topmast was replaced, new stays were installed, etc. The great help and assistance of the museum was fantastic. Lunenburg has been very Tall Ship Friendly. A big thank you for the Picton Castle Staff and the Fisheries Museum. Should anyone need further details, pls contact Reinoud van der Heijden at the office of EUROPA, email: reinoud(a)
