Westerly Course Strategy Wins – Jolie Brise provisional overall leader on Corrected Time

July 14, 2012

Jolie Brise (UK) crossed the finish line at 09:42:23 UTC today putting her into the lead on corrected time for Class B and overall.  It seems that Adam Seager, the skipper, took an early decision to take a more westerly route hoping that his strategy would pay off towards the end of the race, sacrificing early placings for the end result.

The Captains of Fryderyk Chopin (Poland, Class A), Dar Szczecina (Poland, Class C) and Miles to Go (Belgium, Class D) evidently had the same strategy in mind and set a similar course and are provisional winners of their respective Classes on Corrected Time.

There is just one change to the Corrected Time placings from this morning’ report, with Maybe pulling back a well-deserved third place in Class B:

Class A: Fryderyk Chopin, Dar Mlodziezy, Mir

Class B:, Jolie Brise, Morning Star, Maybe

Class C: Dar Szczecina,  St Iv, Juan de Langara

Class D: Miles To Go, Urania, Akela

Please note that these are provisional results.
