Ships Proceed through Sea of Marmara

The Historical Seas Tall Ships Regatta fleet are progressing through the Sea of Marmara towards the race start area. This morning they all passed their positions to Race Control and are making good progress under light and variable winds with calm seas. 

The fleet have kept fairly close together with Dewaruci (Indonesia) at the front of the fleet and just entering the Cannakale Strait. Close behind are Bodrum (Turkey), Hansa (Spain), Adonis (Greece), Mir (Russia) and Dar Mlodziezy (Poland – pictured above). The rest of the fleet are spread out behind.

A further update will be posted this evening at 1800 hrs UTC/GMT. 

The fleet are due to start the race on Tuesday 1 June between 0500 – 0700 UTC/GMT.
