Nomination Deadline Looms

September 22, 2011

Sail Training International is calling upon everybody involved in sail training to recognise those who have made a significant contribution this year by nominating them to receive a prestigious award before the deadline expires at midnight, Friday 14th October 2011.

Six awards in three categories will be presented at Sail Training International’ annual conference taking place in Toulon, France (18 – 20 November) where the organisation will pay tribute to those who have made an exceptional difference in the development of young people.

Paul Bishop, Head of Race Directorate, comments: äóìWe see so many great sail trainers, volunteers and sail training organisations during the races who really do deserve to be recognised for their hard work and effort which has such a positive influence on the lives of the young people they encounter throughout the year. Please give these organisations and people the recognition they deserve and send your nominations in today!äó

Make sure your opinion counts by nominating who you think should win the following awards:

  1. Sail Training Operator of the Year – Two awards; one for large and one for small vessels. NSTOs, sail training vessel operators and individuals are eligible to nominate in these categories.
  2. Sail Trainer of the Year – Two awards; one for a professional sail trainer older than 25 and the other to a sail trainer aged 25 or younger. Sail training operators/organisations are eligible to nominate in these categories.
  3. Sail Training Volunteer of the Year – Two awards; one for a volunteer older than 25 and the other to a volunteer aged 25 or younger. Sail training operators/organisations are eligible to nominate in these categories.

Download and complete the nomination form and email it to francoise@sailtraininginternational.org with ‘Annual Awards’ in the subject line by Friday 14th October 2011.
