July 12, 2011

As the ships prepare to depart Greenock this afternoon for the second leg of The Tall Ships Races 2011 there are a few places for trainees between 15 and 25 on the Cruise-in-Company to Lerwick and subsequent race legs across to Stavanger, Norway and Halmstad, Sweden.  Click here for more details about The Tall Ships Races 2011.

Paul Bishop, the Race Director, said äóìThe Tall Ships Races provide an exciting opportunity for any young person with a sense of adventure, with or without any previous sailing experience, to get involved in all aspects of  sailing a Tall Ship under the supervision of the qualified captains and permanent crews. Details of the vessels still looking for crews can be found on the places available page.

There are also opportunities after The Tall Ships Races for young people to sail on the many sail training vessels based around the UK. Details can be found on  the Association of Sail Training Organisation  website.äó

The Tall Ships Races 2011 are presented by Szczecin and organised by Sail Training International.
