Dolphins were spotted alongside the Tall Ships as they were undocking from A Coruña to leave for the Parade of Sail - signifying a good omen for a safe race to Dublin.
The fantastic Tall Ships said farewell to Spain with Europa, the Dutch vessel often referred to as 'Ocean Wanderer' leading the fleet.
The brave cadets on board Danmark stole the show as they worked aloft on the yard arms in choppy conditions.
Some of the Class Cs and Ds have now returned to A Coruña as they wait to hear the latest weather conditions and revised race start time (see this morning's announcement). The larger vessels are expected to anchor off shore.
The Race Committee will meet at 10:00 tomorrow (Tuesday 14 August) to discuss the weather forecast and race start which is currently scheduled to take place at 19:00 local time.
