Aarhus, Denmark

Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th July

Aarhus look forward to welcoming you from 4–7 July 2013 when they will once again be a proud host to The Tall Ships Races. The citizens and visitors to Aarhus had the great pleasure of admiring the beautiful Tall Ships in 2007 when for the first time, the port was a host to The Tall Ships Races. The 2007 Race was a great success, and Aarhus are much looking forward to once again welcoming the magnificent Tall Ships and their crew members to their vibrant city.

Aarhus is a city with a proud and strong maritime heritage. In fact, more than 1200 years ago, the  Vikings, the first settlers in Aarhus, came by sea.  The city has also hosted several big sail sports events. In 2008, Aarhus hosted the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship, and in 2013, they
will host the European championships in the Olympic 49er class, and the world championships in the international 29er class. Maritime events are given high priority and always attract many  visitors.

Aarhus is a colourful and lively city where cultural activities and creative ideas flourish, and they will do our utmost to make The Tall Ships Races 2013 a festive and colourful event and a great city celebration for everyone taking part.
