Szczecin, Poland

Welcome to the green city of ecology and yachting, the city that is bringing to life the brave vision of the Floating Garden. Szczecin is surrounded by water and is on the banks of the Szczecin Lagoon, Poland’s largest reservoir. The western Oder flows into the lagoon carrying the greater part of the waters from the Oder Basin, covering nearly one third of the area of Poland. Another feature of the city is the Dąbie Lake, the fourth largest lake in Poland, which offers great opportunities for sailing and sail training for young people.

South of the city centre kayakers can discover the charm of the Międzyodrze which is a 30km long and 2km wide unique area of picturesque marshes and winding canals.

The city of Szczecin was the final port for The Tall Ships Races 2007 and 2013 series of the prestigious regatta. Some of the biggest and most beautiful Tall Ships from around the world attracted around 2 million visitors to the harbour during each event.
